Felt Cathedral NYC

Friday, April 18, 2008

So, when we were last in New York, we widely wandered the Lower East Side(did I get it right?) where we found ourselves looking at the cathedral of Felt: The American Felt Building.  There is little online about its history, but I did find this: Alteration of a 1906 limestone clad industrial building into an avant-garde luxury condominium building. Converted in 1984, this 11-story, red brick building now contains 40 loft-style apartments. Luxury Condos?!?  Sign me up!

When we were there we also discovered Barneys COOP which had just finished its big sale the day before and was sadly then shut to the public.  Oooooohhhh…the goodies that must have been in there!!  I really think the Rose Scarves are ready for the Big Time, maybe Barneys would be a good place to approach?  HMMMmmmm…..that’ll require some looking into!
