here is an image of a new piece made for the show: the Sun talking to the Moon.  What do you think they might say?

Wow- we just finished a whirlwind weekend at the ACC show here in SF.  Lots of super cool stuff and it was an honor to be accepted in the show, though I wish some of the other felt had been of higher quality.   It’s always nice to wipe the suds off and take our goodies to town and now I’m looking forward to getting back into studio tomorrow.

It was also great fun to meet other professional artists that are young and working in the big leagues.  Here are a few of those fabulous folks and links to their websites:

Lisa Crowder

www.lisacrowder.com

I didn’t get to meet Lisa at the show, but just love what she does!

Diana Hundley

Metallurge Casting
www.metallurgecasting.com

(oops-I thought her name was “Kitty,” she was my neighbor and super talented and friendly)

Britt Rynearson
Chine
www.brittrynearson.com

Britt makes beautiful shibori wraps

Rina Young

Her Artful Home Page

Rina makes fabulous jewelry and was my neighbor in Baltimore.  I love her energy and she reminds me much of a college roommate I had in Florence.  It was great to see her again!

Patty Benson
Papaver Vert
www.papaververt.etsy.com

Patty makes great felted vessels and pillowcases and hales from right here in SF.   She was in the AltCraft part of the show, but I thought she really could have been in the trenches of the main show!  Great style and top quality stuff!!

We’re in! Philadelphia Museum Show

Thursday, May 15, 2008

The weirdest psychic thing happened this morning:  I checked on Juried Art Services to see if my application for the Philadelphia Art Museum show had been accepted or not and it said that the notification would be made in mid-June.  Minutes later an email appeared in my Inbox that was my acceptance notice to the show!!!  Psychic hotline-what’s the odds of that?!?!

I’m sososososososo psyched!
